4 · Alerts

Receive a clear alert when action is needed

Email alerts use the same status-led design as the production templates, with the website, time and friendly reason presented before optional support detail.

Alert dispatch is conditional on plan access, preferences, limits and incident state. A queued email is not a guarantee of inbox delivery.

Also available by plan: public status pages, maintenance windows, monitoring summaries, WhatsApp alerts and signed webhooks.

Agency incident workflow

From failed check to a useful client update

SiteAlert gives your agency a clear path from detection to investigation without turning one failed request into an immediate incident.

1

A client website goes down

SiteAlert records the failed check while monitoring continues.

2

SiteAlert confirms the outage

A second consecutive down-check opens an incident outside maintenance.

3

You receive an alert

Get an email alert, or WhatsApp on Pro and Business when enabled.

4

Investigate with context

Review recent checks, the error and the incident timeline.

5

Keep your client informed

Share a public status page when your plan includes one.

Real-world scenarios

Routine monitoring for situations agencies recognise

Each situation stays focused on what happens, how SiteAlert responds and what your agency can do next.

Outside office hours

How SiteAlert responds
SiteAlert keeps checking, confirms consecutive downtime and sends the enabled alerts.

Your agency can investigate with check and incident context before waiting for a client report.
Certificate health

An SSL certificate is close to expiry

Situation
A certificate on a client website approaches its expiry date.
How SiteAlert responds
Daily SSL monitoring records its status and can send email warnings at configured thresholds.
Outcome
Your team has time to renew or investigate the certificate before it expires.
Planned work

Maintenance should not create noise

Situation
Your agency schedules work that may temporarily affect availability or performance.
How SiteAlert responds
Checks continue with maintenance context while new downtime incidents and uptime or performance alerts are suppressed.
Outcome
You retain an accurate check history without using alerts for expected disruption.

Agency FAQ

Questions before you start

Can I monitor multiple client websites?

Yes. Starter supports up to 5 websites, Pro up to 20 and Business up to 50. You can manage the websites included in your plan from one dashboard.

Do my clients need a SiteAlert account?

No account is needed to view a public status page. Public status pages are available on Pro and Business and can be shared with clients using their public URL.

How quickly will I receive a downtime alert?

SiteAlert opens an incident after a second consecutive down-check, then dispatches the enabled alerts. The time between scheduled checks depends on your plan: 10 minutes on Starter, 5 or 10 minutes on Pro, and 1, 5 or 10 minutes on Business.

Can SiteAlert monitor SSL certificates and performance?

Yes. SiteAlert checks SSL certificates daily, records response times and can detect persistent slowness across repeated checks.

What happens during planned maintenance?

Checks continue and retain maintenance context. SiteAlert suppresses new downtime incidents and uptime or performance alerts for checks made during the maintenance window, while SSL monitoring remains separate.

Can I try SiteAlert before subscribing?

Yes. The 14-day trial uses Starter limits for up to 5 websites with 10-minute uptime checks, email alerts and 7 days of incident history. No payment details are required.
